Synod Sunday - 21st April

This coming Sunday is the beginning of our church's national Convention of Synod taking place in Adelaide. Although we have lots of people attending the Synod service with our choir singing there, we will still be having service in Shepparton.

Pastor Graham will be over from Echuca to lead service beginning at 8.30am. Sunday is known as Good Shepherd Sunday which gives us an opportunity to give thanks for our Good Shepherd who lays His life down for the Sheep.

PLEASE NOTE: Service will be held at our old church - St Paul's in Fahey Street for this week only.

God's peace,
Pastor Matt

Sunday 14th April - 11am

The week has disappeared far too quickly and I find it's Friday night before I'm updating the blog!

Service this Sunday begins at 11am and will be followed by a shared lunch.

Our choir will begin thier final week of preparations before heading to Adelaide to sing at the opening service (21/4) for the LCA's triennial Convention of Synod and at the afternoon celebration Alive 175! There's still plenty of room at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre so come along on the 21st April if you can - it will be a 'once in a generation' celebration for our church.

More information is available at http://www.lcasynod.org.au/index.php/alive175/

For this Sunday the readings are:

Acts 9:1-20 The conversion of Saul
Revelation 5:11-14 Worthy is the Lamb that was killed
John 21:1-19 Jesus and the miraculous catch of fish; words to Peter

Blessings,
Pastor Matt

Our choir's latest engagement

For those of you who've been following the wonderful St Paul's Lutheran Church Choir, you might be interested in the news that the producers from Australia's Got Talent have INVITED them to audition this coming week! It's a closed audition with the producers being the only 'audience' but I'm sure you'll agree that it's a great recognition of their amazing, God-given talent. Who knows where it will go....

We're praying simply that it will be an opportunity for God to be glorified through His people and for the church to receive some positive coverage in the Australian media.

Please pray for our choir as they head off on Tuesday morning.

For Sunday 7th April - 8.30am

We are back to the regular program of service times from this Sunday with service beginning at 8.30am. Following on from the wonderful celebration of the Lord's resurrection last week, we will follow the disciples' srtuggles with faith and doubt and rejoice in the risen Lord's gifts to the church.

Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Here are the readings:
Acts 5:27-32 The apostles boldly proclaim Jesus' resurrection
Revelation 1:4-8 Every eye will see the Lord
John 20:19-31 Thomas sees the risen Christ and believes

The peace of the risen Lord be with you,
Pastor Matt
